1-McLeod Plantation Historic Site
Historic site on James Island near the Wappoo Creek.
2-Ellis Creek Fish Camp Restaurant
A casual Southern style fish restaurant with fantastic views of the marsh and creek. This is a great outdoor dining spot with cool breezes.
3-Sunrise Park
This spot is also known as Demetre Park. This popular James Island park has wonderful views of Downtown Charleston (from James Island). It is the perfect place to see the morning sunrise.
4-James Island County Park
A serene park with tidal creeks and trails. It is popular for biking, crabbing and camping. The park features a very popular event: Holiday Festival of Lights display during the evenings in the Holiday Season. You can drive through the light display and then walk around Santa's Village and enjoy a seasonal treat.
5-The Terrace Theatre
A retro cinema in the Riverland Terrace Neighborhood. The theater is know for showing popular and independent films. You can enjoy your movie with a beer or a glass of wine.
6-Crust Pizza
A wood-fired pizza restaurant featuring Neopolitan style pizzas. It is located nextdoor to the Terrace Theatre. Check out the other eateries nearby also. This area has several local favorites.
7-Bagel Nation Breakfast and Lunch
Casual eatery that offers a multiple varieties of bagels and bagel sandwiches.
8-Wild Ropes Adventure Park
An outdoor park with ropes and rope courses built on platforms. You can have a "swinging" good time. This is a fun place for birthday parties or just letting off a bit of steam. The BBQ place nearby is great. Check out Martin's BBQ.
9-Secessionville Historic Site
A historic site located on James Island, near Folly Beach. This district is comprised of six buildings contributing to the secession from the Union (The Civil War). There is an unmarked grave for over 300 Union soldiers and the remains of Fort Lamar.
10-James Island Yacht Club
Located next to Sunrise Park, this local membership club has wonderful views from James Island toward Downtown Charleston. You can join Summer sailing programs or take sailing lessons in groups or have private lessons. They do many racing events during the year. If you love sailing, check out this local neighborhood club.
